**RAMBLE ALERT**

I am just sick of the way the media has been handling this whole Dick Cheney vs. Barack Obama farce this week. Let's take a sec and think about this:
  • Where in the world was Dick the majority of the time he was actually IN office?
  • If the argument is that the Bush administration was doing so much to protect us, then why did we get attacked in the first place?
  • Why is it that since Obama was elected we are suddenly and completely unsafe although nothing has been changed as far as procedures of national security are concerned. We are still running things like the Bush Administration did. There hasn't even been time to change anything, so we can't be in more danger.
  • The Cheney camp is trumpeting that "the people" should be involved in making the decision regarding our national security. Really? REALLY?! Seems to me that when the GOP was in power, we "the people" were TOLD what to do, what to think, and what to say. Oh and by the way you'll like it too! If you don't you'll be branded a terrorist or unpatriotic.
  • Where were you, Dick Cheney, on September 11th? just wonderin'.
  • Don't you dare bring up the point that "thousands were killed in the name of terror" when you used that horrible day to orchestrate the killing of tens of thousands in our name. Those people say the same things about us, and rightly so.
  • Since when does simulating drowning get filed under "tough questioning"?
  • I am insulted that the networks are demeaning Barack by sporting a split screen of him and Cheney all week. This is not a debate people. Obama is our president, not Dick Cheney.
  • What does it say about the state of our media when the networks so effortlessly fall into the snare of promoting this ridiculous agenda of Cheney's? How pathetic and sad that no one is willing to grow a pair and say no. Bunch of fucking lemmings.

Aren't we taking our eye off the ball here? I mean it's the GOP's best tactic, trying to get us to focus on something other that the actual facts or the actual person who should be blamed, but come on.
Don't you think it's interesting that Dick Cheney lumbered onto the scene last week, made the rounds on the news shows, stirred up the lemmings, and at the end of the week everyone was looking at Nancy Pelosi?
How many times are we going to fall for this old stale act?
Democrats: Let's stay focused on this one. Eye on the ball, please. It's easy. It's the one that has the words "REPUBLICANS SUPPORTED TORTURE" scrawled on the side. Remember?

Barack, I am your father! Eeew! That's not even funny.

I think it's odd and quite calculated that Dick Cheney has reared his ugly head all this week in attempts to guide/dictate and influence our national conversation on torture. Okay so maybe it's not so odd that he is going about this in this manner. He is the definition of calculated, and cold, and evil, and the devil, and Darth Vader.

Never in the eight sad, lonely, dark years of the Bush Administration did we hear so much from Cheney. Now, when the stakes are the highest for him personally, we can't shut him up! He's everywhere weighing in on and attempting to rewrite the history and most importantly our opinion on torture. Great HuffPo article here.

Here's hoping Barack is strong enough to stay on course and not be swayed by the obvious and transparent attempts of a failed leader to protect his legacy.

Excuse for one minute, does anyone actually think/believe that the Bush administration had absolutely nothing to do with the economic meltdown in which we are currently having a blast?Anyone heard of the current $644 billion we are in the hole for the debacle know as the Iraq war? You think that may have had something to do with our current problems?! Hmm?

I fully agree that the economic problems happening are worldwide and shared by many communities, but we helped create the collapse of the house of cards by spending money on a war of choice. It stresses our communities and budgets and guess what? Shit rolls downhill.

Want to know just how much this imbroglio is costing YOUR community? Take a look. This great site boils it right down.

Fucker, Cheney.

It strikes me as odd that the very men and women that helped escort our economy into the restroom and let George Bush give it a big ole' swirly are the same people that are bitching and moaning every second about the awfulness of Barack's plan. Clearly and obviously, the Republican plan didn't work and I don't recall hearing a peep when W asked for money over and over for a baseless war. Sounds like someones mad about losing their tax cuts.

goodnight and f*%k you

Here's a little teaser to prep you for tonight's no-doubt-highly-anticipated final address from our Hobo in Chief --I've been referring to him as such for a few weeks now. I mean look at that hair! Get a freakin' haircut man! Between the hair and the disheveled, sometimes matching suits you have been sporting in the last month, you look like a few of the homeless guys downtown!-- ,George Bush. Now go on and get your popcorn and cold drink ready. George wants to say goodbye and thank you. Enjoy this little taste of what tonight's speech will most likely entail.

He's so proud. Aren't you?

Take that--you dog!

Bush is on a victory tour of the Middle East this week attempting to rewrite history and shine up his oh so tarnished soon to be legacy.

This may very well be the best video I have seen in a long time. The only thing better would have been if at least one had hit him square in the nose!

I can't wait to be rid of this smug, disrespectful ass. While he makes jokes and laughs, you can hear the reporter yelling in pain as he is restrained. Fucker.

Two weeks ago, Treasury Secretary Paulson bailed out American Insurance Group (AIG) with $85 billion dollars in taxpayer money - and now they are back for more asking for another $38 billion. Paulson said they needed it to stay afloat. Now, we know what they did with our money. AIG executives headed out on a taxpayer funded junket to the St. Regis resort in California. While there, they had a blast at our expense. They helped themselves to:

$201,047.42 for hotel rooms and $147,301.71 for catered banquets
$23,380 for the hotel spa and another $1,488 for the salon
Golf for $6,939.09 and $5,016.32 spent at the Tavern

Now they are back at the trough. This is outrageous. Tell Treasury Secretary Paulson: The Director who authorized this junket should be fired and every penny spent on this lavish retreat must be returned to the Treasury.

quick study

Isn't it great that Bush learned so much from neglecting our own citizens in the south during Hurricane Katrina? Don't ever say this guy isn't a quick study! Just take a look at his speedy efforts to help Georgia (no, not our Georgia) during it's recent scuffle with Russia.

Why, aid was off the ground and on it's way a mere 4 days after the incident began. No waiting around weeks at a time for help if you are a citizen of another country!

Atta boy, Georgie! You're doin' a heckava job!
And now ladies and gentlemen, we bring you the latest installment of
America's favorite game show,
"Pot, Meet Kettle"!

Here is today's not-so-secret stupid quote:

"This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia where Russia can threaten its neighbors, occupy a capital, overthrow a government, and get away with it,"
---Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, referring to Russia's lack of solidarity with Georgia and current military action

Folks, what I think she meant to say is:

"This is not 2003 and the invasion of Iraq where America can threaten it's neighbors, occupy a capital, over throw a government, and get away with it."

Stop copying us! Stop trying to be cool like us! Mom!! Russia won't stop copying us! (whine)
