give my regards to Broadway

As you all know, we are seeing Wicked Friday night, ahem 5th row center orchestra, and we have been trying to settle on what we might pick up for Saturday's matinee or evening performance. It's easy to pick up some last minute tickets to most shows and generally that gamble yields some awesome seats for those willing to be flexible. Last year we walked up and fetched 4th row center to the matinee perf of The Drowsy Chaperone. It was a welcome respite from the 90 degree heat wave that hit the city that day I'll tell you!

There are a few new plays opening this week and until yesterday we had planned on rushing the box office for tickets to "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" starring James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad, and Terrance Howard. Two things have happened to make us reconsider: #1 the running time of the play is over 3 hours with two, yes two, intermissions. That would put us out of the play pretty late and infringe on our hob knob time with Stephanie after her show. #2 We discovered that another new play is opening that totally fits the theme of our trip. "The Beebo Brinker Chronicles" opens tonight and is getting great press in previews. It's retro, it's lesbian, it's pulp, and I think it will be our show for Saturday night. I mean look at this promo poster...how can we not partake?!
