Peter Pan Recall

Heard about this today? Do you live in Gainesville and shop at Publix? Have you checked your serial/lot numbers on your Peter Pan Peanut Butter? You might want to. These are pics of our jars recently purchased on a buy-one-get-one deal of all things! I'm beginning to understand why they were on sale!
Yes, they all start with the lot #2111. Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Well, 4 winners!

What are the chances that we have contracted salmonella from eating this much of the 4 jars we own? Any of you here last weekend remember eating peanut butter?! ;)

I just had to laugh at this legitimate health news story yesterday.

I wonder just how long and how much money had to be spent to give guys another reason to get out of having a vasectomy?
Dementia? Language loss? Sounds good to me!

big weekend festivities

Didn't have time to post much this weekend due to lots of activity. We actually had a real weekend that didn't involve work, so we were able to tackle some project around the house and hold a "The L Word" marathon to get Angie and Bren caught up.

After lots of good guac and spinach dip a proper introduction to the wonders of the Nintendo Wii were in order! I have to say that I think we have some gaming converts! Does it look like they are enjoying this or what?!

What style, what grace!

Sunday involved what should have been a quick erection (hehe) of our new storage building. Okay...does quick mean 7 hours? Yep, after most of the day (beautiful as it may have been) installing the building we are proud to welcome our newest member on the site, Sheddy!
Is this girl proud or what? Maybe a bit delirious too!

Hey Y'all watch this! Electric lines...extension pruners...911

Sheddy's point of view

who needs the Super Bowl...

...when you've got the Puppy Bowl!

Congrats Girls! You deserve every sweet moment!

Just to highlight how contradictory and dishonest most Republicans are, get a load of the hullabaloo being raised by the GOP concerning the size of the plane Nancy Pelosi is requesting to use for flights back to her home district:

"The jet that Pelosi has produces 10,000 pounds of carbon dioxide an hour, far more than the previous speaker used," said Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C. Pelosi's predecessor was Rep. Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.

If memory serves me right, just a few months ago we caught snaps of the former Speaker of the House pretending to be concerned about the environment as he rode in a hybrid for all of around the block and then shuttled back into the SUV that matched the size of his gluttonous girth.

So let me get this right...#1 all of the sudden the GOP is concerned about the environment, #2 the safety of the 1st female Speaker of House flying across country is no more a concern than it was when Denny Hastert was flying a few states away, and #3 the GOP are sore losers and this is the biggest thing they could get their hands on to complain about...okay.

How many of you have ever arrived at a place of business a few minutes before the scheduled time to open? Now unless you are an employee who happens to have lost your key, do you ever proceed to knock on the door expecting someone to open it just because you are ready to come in?
If you raised your hand, how did that work for you? Did someone let you in so you could get a jump on shopping or browsing and thereby enable you to have the staff of the business at your disposal?
Just curious.
Maybe this new door knocker would curtail those people and her rude behavior.

Okay, I understand why one would think this is a good idea, but if you live in New York, or have ever visited New York and enjoy seeing the locals plod along with little white wires trickling from their ears; New York is not the same without iPods and cell phones.

As if we needed another reason to NOT buy gas from Exxon/Mobil, check out this little gem!

Make a point to put Exxon/Mobil in the same pile of retailers that should already include Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, and Domino's Pizza. These companies host a litany of bad business practices that are in place to benefit the corporate heads--not YOU and not their employees.
"We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders, and every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to
help stop this war."
Thanks, Molly.

You'll be missed by this reader and fan. The Nation, Mother Jones, and the back page of The Progressive will never feel the same.
