Wii Shit

Ok, so let's talk about the Wii Fit.
First, this is an amazing game/invention. There is no denying the incredibleness and accuracy of this little board. It is engaging, fun, helpful, educational, and more fun.
Secondly, I only have one complaint, and it's really not so much a complaint as it is a "whaa? Geez, that was rude!"
When you initialize the Wii Fit game, it is necessary to go through a body test which includes among many other factors, your weight, height, body mass index, and balance. After all the information is gathered your Wii Fit Age is determined along with a weight classification, all while your cute little cartoon avatar Mii watches from the sidelines.Much to my surprise, after I was classified as obese, (that's not the surprise) my Mii totally tubbed out!! How rude!
Now let me expound: I was not offended by the classification. I'm aware of my huskiness. But to take it out on my defenseless little Mii is unacceptable... ;)
Of course, until I meet a goal or actually lose some weight, I am forced to look at me and my lovely in avatar form and be further reminded that I need to spend hours on the Wii Fit.
I do, however, find solace in the fact that I am queen at the Super Hoola Hoop! That's right baby! These hips are Calorie Incinerators!
Stay tuned for more Wii action shots, guest Miis and hopefully some reduction in my avatar's girth!

Savvy?

Oi! I started playing the Wii version of Pirate of the Caribbean At World's End yesterday.

I think I may officially have torn my Wiitator Cuff, or contracted Tennis Wiibow, or at least Tendwiiitis! Nothing but swashbuckle, swashbuckle, swashbuckle!

(leaves to get ice pack...)

Oh! BTW--you never look this good when you Wii!

big weekend festivities

Didn't have time to post much this weekend due to lots of activity. We actually had a real weekend that didn't involve work, so we were able to tackle some project around the house and hold a "The L Word" marathon to get Angie and Bren caught up.

After lots of good guac and spinach dip a proper introduction to the wonders of the Nintendo Wii were in order! I have to say that I think we have some gaming converts! Does it look like they are enjoying this or what?!

What style, what grace!

Sunday involved what should have been a quick erection (hehe) of our new storage building. Okay...does quick mean 7 hours? Yep, after most of the day (beautiful as it may have been) installing the building we are proud to welcome our newest member on the site, Sheddy!
Is this girl proud or what? Maybe a bit delirious too!

Hey Y'all watch this! Electric lines...extension pruners...911

Wii update

Okay, you may have read or heard about all the "silly" people who scored a Nintendo Wii over the holidays and then proceeded to either injure themselves, or something in their house while vigorously playing whatever game they bought, right? Sounds crazy, right? Injure yourself playing a video game? How lame...ludicrous...insane!

We are here to testify the old adages: "Don't knock it 'til you've tried it" and "Walk a mile in another's shoes!"

No cause for concern...we haven't injured ourselves yet, but I will admit that sore and tight muscles are being felt at this house! So far the only game that doesn't require you to stand and flail about is a surgery game! The likes of which I will need if I don't get in better shape so I can play any new games that come out! Until then, we will do our best to manage the new syndromes to be known as CarpWii Tunnel, Wiiitis, Wiitator Cuff tear, ...you get the idea.

After months of getting up early, running from store to store, waiting in the cold, enduring the "Are you serious?" looks from endless store employees and Best Buy, EB Games, Target, and Rhino...
The hunt for the elusive Nintendo Wii is OVER!
Hallelujah!

Thanks to a lowdown tip from our BFF Bren, at approximately 4:15pm today I bought the newest console from Nintendo!

Big ups, kudos and at the very least a Mellow Mushroom Pizza to our friend Bren!

scary...funny...ok mostly scary

So, it's early morning, oh about 4:15 am, and my girl goes "Do you hear all those doors slamming? I'm going to be the only kid in the neighborhood without a Wii this Christmas!"

Now I know some questions are running through your head right now:

  • Why is the elusive Nintendo Wii the topic of conversation at 4:15 in the morning?

  • Does your girl frequently just start talking to you in the middle of sleep?

  • Why do two 40-yr-old childless women even want the new gaming system?

Well, some questions are never meant to be answered...so...now comes the scary part:

The slamming of doors was a number of police cars next door because the house next door, whose owners are on holiday break, got broken into!! They busted open the front door and got in, but something spooked them and they ran off!

Guess who shined up the Crime Prevention signs in the front and back yard and changed the battery in the alarm system today?
