Wowee Wednesday

Kathleen Turner

As I stumbled across a Canadian interview with Kathleen Turner, I was reminded how much I love her and thus this week's Wowee was born!

Romancing the Stone was the first movie I saw with Kathleen, and because I thought she was so adorable I watched it over and over. Yes, I endured Michael Douglas for Kathleen Turner.
I have always found her to be extremely intriguing with that sultry voice, and smorgasbord dialect. On top of it all, she is very funny! Kathleen's sense of humor passed the test, and surprised most, as she starred in John Waters' Serial Mom. Who knew Pussywillows could be so hilarious?!

I was so fortunate to have seen Kathleen play the stellar role of Mrs. Robinson in the Broadway production of The Graduate. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it was to see her step onto the stage for the first time. She was magnificent! Most recently Kathleen has starred on Broadway in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? of which she received a Tony nomination, and directed Crimes of the Heart at the Laura Pels Theatre.

So this weekend, go rent a Kathleen Turner movie. May I suggest:

Romancing the Stone, Prizzi's Honor, Body Heat, The Accidental Tourist, The Jewel of the Nile, Serial Mom, or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

I was just thinking about her last night. Great minds...
She reminds me of the old Hollywood movie stars. Glamorous, sultry, Beautiful. She is one of those women that I can't decide I want to be her or do her.
