Take that--you dog!

Bush is on a victory tour of the Middle East this week attempting to rewrite history and shine up his oh so tarnished soon to be legacy.

This may very well be the best video I have seen in a long time. The only thing better would have been if at least one had hit him square in the nose!

I can't wait to be rid of this smug, disrespectful ass. While he makes jokes and laughs, you can hear the reporter yelling in pain as he is restrained. Fucker.

And now ladies and gentlemen, we bring you the latest installment of
America's favorite game show,
"Pot, Meet Kettle"!

Here is today's not-so-secret stupid quote:

"This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia where Russia can threaten its neighbors, occupy a capital, overthrow a government, and get away with it,"
---Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, referring to Russia's lack of solidarity with Georgia and current military action

Folks, what I think she meant to say is:

"This is not 2003 and the invasion of Iraq where America can threaten it's neighbors, occupy a capital, over throw a government, and get away with it."

Stop copying us! Stop trying to be cool like us! Mom!! Russia won't stop copying us! (whine)

Heroes of the Week

Much to my excitement, I heard the words of two people this week who dared to step outside of the zone of comfort and say what most of us wish we could, or just simply don't have the courage to do so.

Hero #1
Rice Confronted By Protester

make sure you link to this stirring video (wait for the annoying commercial to cease and then prepare for your chest to swell with pride)

Hero #2

California Lt. Governor John Garamendi went on what seemed like every news channel available and made no bones about his feelings regarding the California National Guard, the wildfires, and the Iraq War. As Bush prepared to arrive for his latest photo-op at a national disaster, Garamendi repeated these facts on just about every news show:

"the state's National Guard is under-funded, mismanaged, and stretched to the breaking point. Approximately 2,500 of its members were deployed overseas at the time of the fire. Its equipment is generally 30 to 40 years old. And, according to a recent USA Today article, at least 800 Humvees, 700 medium tactical vehicles and 50 heavy lifter trucks were unavailable, primarily because they were being used in Iraq. "

---The Huffington Post, 10/25/07

Don't be afraid to speak up. You don't have to be in Washington, or on MSNBC to let your voice be heard. Wear a t-shirt, place a sticker, speak up when you hear someone say something ridiculous and uninformed. Your voice may give someone else the courage to find their own.

If this headline doesn't send chills down your spine, you need to pay better attention!

"Soldiers Who Signed Anti-War Op-Ed Piece Die in Iraq"

I know I tend to lean toward the side of conspiracy, but this sounds a bit too coincidental.

In what should, by now, not be surprising, our dear friend George has taken to defending the Iraq War and supporting our need for victory by making the hijackers of 9/11 out to be manipulated "kids".

"It matters to the security of people here at home if we don't work to change the conditions that cause 19 kids to be lured onto airplanes to come and murder our citizens."

Am I reading this correctly? Is he actually invoking sympathy for those that attacked us that day as if they were young children forced to take flying lessons and board our commercial airlines to attack us. Let's take a second and think about this...those 19 men were in their 20's and 30's...those 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia...what does winning this asinine war in Iraq have to do with making conditions in SAUDI ARABIA better?

What a crook. How pathetic to choose the side of the actual attackers in order to make a very weak, lame point. And we are the numb, mindless lemmings that not only allow that kind of blasphemous speak to continue, but we are doing nothing to hold Congress responsible for continuing to sign checks for this idiot's ultimate pork project.
Write your Congressperson after the summer break and ask them to start to do the freakin' job we hired them to do. Write every chance you get. It doesn't have to to be wordy or eloquent. We aren't telling them anything they don't already know. They just need to know that we are paying attention.
